Based on other owner’s reviews on various guitar forums, the RG520QS varnish is said to naturally darken as the years go by, and my own specimen is no exception to the rule. Regardless this here is an extremely interesting guitar bridging the gap between the classic RG superstrat and fuller sounding mahogany axes. I have since taking a few pictures upgraded it to EMG85/85, changed the pickup rings and fitted a clean cosmo black edge tremolo I had handy, and it’s a win on every front, from metal to jazz trust me, extremely versatile guitar. I paid 300 euros for it, not a bargain, not a rip off either. My next purchase is definitely a RG620 with direct mounted pickups and the flashier SOL finish.
